The CM model was designed with Nashville studio trombone player, composer and orchestrater Chris McDonald.
From Chris "I love the mouthpiece... It feels like my 12C, which I have played on every pop recording I’ve ever done, but is more responsive. I will definitely be playing it on anything pop or jazz that I do."
Emmy-Award winning composer and orchestrator Chris McDonald is the backbone of DRRP’s creative team. His experience spans every genre and period of music including big band jazz, salsa, pop, country and rock. With more than 6,000 recording sessions to his credit, his stylistic versatility, while retaining a unique voice, consistently adds to every project he undertakes.
Chris has arranged for 19 Grammy winning albums for recording artists including Carrie Underwood, Ricardo Arjona, Louis Fonsi, Jennifer Holliday, Gaby Moreno, Martina McBride, Amy Grant, Kirk Franklin, Sara Evans, and Patti Austin. His arrangements have been recorded by orchestras all over the world, and he is frequently called upon to conduct large studio orchestras, including the 80 piece orchestra on Matchbox 20’s “Mad Season” project.
Chris has orchestrated scores for several major motion pictures, among them All The Pretty Horses (which was nominated for a Golden Globe for best musical score), An Unfinished Life, Seabiscuit and Sioux City.
Chris and Dan have collaborated on countless projects since 1989.
