Modeled after a Doc Severinson model of the 70's, this mouthpiece is perfect for those who play a 3-5 for legit work, but need to switch to something different for commercial work. This mouthpiece is for those who cannot play shallow mouthpieces. The hole (28), and back-bore give you "zing" to "cut through" the section and keep up with the other players who are playing shallow equipment. Because of the added resistance, it is easier to play in the high range. It has a big fat bright sound. This mouthpiece sits between our 3 and 5 inner diameter, but is more commercial sounding.

The 5ZS is a common modification that has been requested so frequently that we decided to add it to our regular line. The CR5ZS features the same drill and back-bore found on our 5Z with a shallow cup as well as our comfort rim profile.

The CR (comfort rim) models are all identical to the standard classical line and the commercial line, except that the rims all have the same cushion profile. They are a bit wider than all of the classical models, but not as wide and cushioned as the commercial models. All the inner diameter specs stay the same for each of the models, but the outer diameter increases on all of the classical models, and decreases on the commercial models.
