The 88S is the same as the 84M, but with a smaller I.D. and a shallower cup. Its inner diameter is comparable to a Bach 10 1/2 to Bach 12. This mouthpiece has a shallow V cup design. This mouthpiece has more resistance than the old Jet-tones providing more endurance, better projection and an easier high end. The sound is full and resonant from the very bottom of the range to the top. The back-bore is matched perfectly to the top to give you a balanced mouthpiece.

Note: Although this we sell this in a one piece model, it is highly recommended that the commercial top be paired with the commercial back bore as a two piece model. The 28 drill in the top and the 27 drill in the back bore pair well together to provide an even, fuller sound, that feels more open without being less efficient. More information can be found here.

Available Rim Profiles:

FR (Flat Rim) The FR rim profile has become widely popular on our commercial models. This profile is fairly flat with a comfortable cushion rim with a high point between the middle and inner edge to provide support so that you don't have that "falling into the cup" feeling.

RR (Round Rim) Of the three variations, the RR is the widest profile. This is a cushion rounded rim similar to the Jet-tone C profile with the highpoint ever so slightly toward the inside of the rim.

CR (Comfort Rim) This rim profile falls between the classical models and commercial models and can be found on both series. This is the most narrow rim profile offered on the commercial models yet still remains extremely supportive. The high point is toward the inside of the rim, making these models "feel" slightly smaller
